A Small Ask for a Big Reward! Schnelltemberfest on September 22nd!

My good friends, Matt and Judy Schnell, are hosting the 4th Annual SchnelltemberFest in Chicago this Saturday September 22nd benefitting The Children’s Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois and I’m proud to not only share this information but will also be contributing to this great cause. They are hoping that this SchnelltemberFest will be just as successful as previous events which have raised over $45,000 and granted seven wishes to very deserving kids over the last 4 years.

The Schnell’s have been blessed to have four happy, and healthy, children. They pledge their time and support to those families who were not as blessed, but by their efforts are able to see the smile on their child when they are granted the one true wish they have in their lives, no matter what it is.

I’m attaching links at the bottom of this post that you can download about the event plus information on the Illinois Make-A-Wish Foundation in case you were not aware of some of the great things this group does for kids all around the country. Please help if you can and I’m looking forward to seeing you at SchnelltemberFest on September 22nd! Glen

“Unless someone like you.. cares a whole awful lot.. nothings going to get better, its not..”  ~ Dr. Suess

April 29th is World Wish Day.  In 1980 a 7yr old boy with leukemia, Chris Greicius, wishes to be a policeman and it was granted.  That wish inspired the creation of the Make-A-Wish Foundation!  Our mission is to help others like Chris receive their wish because of the extraordinary circumstances that these kids face in their lives.  We may be granting wishes, but I say we are creating smiles and life-long memories.

We would like to grant our 1st wish of 2012 by April 29th in honor of World Wish Day. You can help!

Our passion to grant wishes began in 2008, and since then we have raised over $45K and have granted seven wishes.  Kids have been sent to Disney, San Diego Zoo and even wished to have their Grandmother from Mexico come to Chicago for a visit!  You can see some of their photos at the top of this page.

Many have asked why Judy and I do this.  My wife and I have been blessed to have four happy, and healthy, children.  We pledge our time and support to those families who were not as blessed, but by our efforts are able to see the smile on their child when they are granted the one true wish they have in their lives, no matter what it is.

Unfortunately in 2011, external factors caused Judy and I to make the very difficult decision to cancel the event.  This was hard for us to do because it is not only something we love, but we felt we let kids down that were counting on us.

In 2012, the 4th Annual SchnelltemberFest is coming back and we are once again committed to raising funds for these well deserving children, and we have our most aggressive goals yet.  Our 2012 event is looking to raise $25K and grant five more wishes!!

We know you will probably not be able to join us on September 22nd in Naperville, IL for the event, but we would like to ask if you would consider to support us in our cause to grant more wishes to these very deserving kids.

As always, any amount is most appreciated and you can donate online.  If you would prefer to send a check, please send to 3008 Brossman Street, Naperville, IL, 60564.  You can make the check payable to Make-A-Wish of Illinois.

Thank you in advance for your generous support once again!  We truly appreciate having people in our lives like you who are willing to lend your support for a great cause!
